The Official Rules and Regulations of The SCRIPTOID Television Challenge
All entrants must be 18 or over at the time of entry.
Both foreign and domestic entrants are welcome.
Author(s) must NOT have made over $20,000 in options or sales of their work. Contest earnings do not count as income.
SCRIPTOID does not require exclusivity, meaning the material can be a part of other competitions.
Teleplays should be registered with the Writer's Guild or the Library of Congress. SCRIPTOID is not responsible for unregistered materials.
Sitcoms should be no longer than 40 pages. Featured dramas should be no longer than 75 pages.
No reality shows or concepts will be accepted into the competition.
Teleplays must be the original work of the author. No third party designations or ghostwriters are permitted.
Scripts must be in English, with the exception of subtitles or foreign language cues.
Scripts must follow industry standard formatting. Electronic entries must be in PDF. Mailed entries must include a standard cover and be fastened with 2-3 brass brads on plain, white paper.
Do NOT send production bibles.
All scripts should have contact and author information removed from the cover page prior to entry. If this is not done, SCRIPTOID reserves the right to do so on the writer's behalf prior to judging.
Multiple entries by the same author are acceptable. Each entry must be submitted separately and be accompanied by a separate entry form and separate entry fee.
Multiple authors are permitted. If the teleplay is chosen as a cash/prize winner, the prizes will be divided accordingly at the time of distribution. Arrangements to accomodate will be made.
All submissions are final. Under no circumstances will additional or updated drafts be accepted.
Once judging has begun, SCRIPTOID will offer no refunds except in the case of contest cancellation. A contestant's dissatisfaction with placement is not a viable reason for issuing a refund. If a competitor chooses to pull a script from competition prior to the official start of judging, a full refund will be issued once written request is received.
Complete submissions are required to process an entry. SCRIPTOID must have payment, material and entry form before confirmation is sent.
SCRIPTOID does not, under any circumstances, accept cash as payment. Personal checks, cashiers checks, money orders and PAYPAL (debit/credit/e-check) are all acceptable forms of payment.
Current employees and clients of ADA Management Group, ScriptMD, The SCRIPTOID Writer's Challenge or other related businesses are NOT permitted to enter the competition.
SCRIPTOID reserves the right to cancel the competition at any time. In the event that a cancellation does occur, information and refunds will be distributed accordingly.
Submit only copies of said material(s). Under no circumstances will teleplays be returned. Submissions can, however, be destroyed upon written request.
Entering the competition constitutes permission to use the winners' names, likenesses, and material for publicity and promotions with no additional compensation. We reserve the right to promote any and all progress, development, and success of the related materials.
ADA Management Group does not guarantee or promise representation or involvement in materials above and beyond what is stated in the competition's regulations. All prizes, sponsors, and promotions are as stated. Winner does not have to accept prizes. Additional options in place of professional representation are negotiable.
