Everyone starts somewhere!
The SCRIPTOID Writer's Challenge had a successful first year. With well over 600 entrants to kick start our fiery reputation, it's no wonder that we're coming back for year two. Offering not one, but two, exciting competitions, the challenge is bigger and better than ever. Though smaller than many of the other, more well-known competitions, SCRIPTOID has just as much to offer- and even more room to grow.
ADA Management Group is a top rated management firm operating out of South Florida. After opening its doors in July of 2009, ADA Management Group has achieved many great successes. Since that time, most of its literary clients have obtained steady employment, sold/optioned materials, or are working on projects in development. Client David Santo of Bad Back Productions had this to say:
"ADA Management Group is the best and the brightest in literary representation. They have guided me through the script writing process with expertise, passion, ethics and overall mastery of the information. They are thoroughly professional and I rely on them for their skillful advice when it comes to screenwriting and every other aspect of the entertainment business."
ADA Management Group is located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and is registered with both the State of Florida and the city of Palm Beach Gardens. Their profile is also listed on IMDB.com and through their website: www.adamanagementgroup.com
In the summer of 2010, ADA Management Group paired up with ScriptMD, a Los Angeles-based script consultation and writing firm, in an effort to provide affordable writing services to the public. Since that time, the two companies have merged to not only better ScriptMD as a whole, but to provide the public with Script-911, the company's first online endeavor. More information about ScriptMD and Script-911 can be found on the company's website: www.script-911.com
ScriptMD currently operates in association with ADA Management Group.
During the initial review process, the amazing group behind ScriptMD, as well as professionals associated with ADA Management Group and independent script consultants will be reading all of the scripts entered into the competition. Once the finalists have been chosen, our featured judges will then join the judging process, assisting in the Winner's Circle decision.
Most legitimate screenwriting competitions charge this type of fee for a variety of reasons. SCRIPTOID uses the funds for administrative costs and reader fees associated with the competition. Any remaining funds are used for present and future prizes. All monies received are used only in relation to The SCRIPTOID Writer's Challenge.
Each applicant will receive a standard coverage of their material for FREE. Just another tidbit that makes SCRIPTOID stand apart from the rest.
If a more in depth coverage is required, we encourage you to speak with ADA Management Group regarding their association with ScriptMD. A number of our sponsors also offer these type of programs for an additional charge. Many of these sponsors will include discounts for participating writers.
Yes- financially. You will get the cheaper rate. Entering earlier than other competitors does not increase your chance of winning. Your screenplay's originality and your talent are what pay off in the end.
Please inform SCRIPTOID immediately of any changes, since this will be how we reach you for both your FREE coverage and notification of winners/prizes.
To set ourselves apart from the other competitions, The SCRIPTOID Writer's Challenge offers two different discounts: Social Networking and Student.
Our Social Networking Discount is available to our Facebook fans/group members, our followers on Twitter @scriptoidonline, and all Myspace connections. If you're connected to us on any of these websites, you qualify to pay only $30.00 until the General Deadline for both competitions. After that, special offers will be held throughout the remainder of the competition.
Our Student Discount is available to film, writing and media students from any accredited university or program in the 50 United States. Unfortunately, foreign students do not qualify for this discount. If you are able to provide the name of the program and a reference, you qualify to pay only $25.00 ANYTIME during the competition.
Recently, there's been a lot of criticism about the practice of screenwriting competitions. I've gotten quite a few questions about whether or not our judges read the entire script.
The answer is absolutely- otherwise our professional feedback would be a scam. Every judge that touches your material is required to read from start to finish, make notes, and suggest placement. Entries are kept anonymous, and you are guaranteed an equal chance.
No matter what, The SCRIPTOID Writer's Challenge and it's related affiliates will never 'own' your material. You will remain the owner of the work. To protect yourself, the staff at SCRIPTOID encourages participants to register their material with either the Writer's Guild or the Library of Congress.
No entries will be taken after MIDNIGHT PST on the final deadline for either competition. No exceptions.
All judging decisions are final. Under no circumstances will scripts be re-evaluated.
Contact Andrea Albin immediately via email. Errors do happen, but we deliver as promised- let us know that you're missing your free, professional feedback and we'd be happy to resend.
Due to the high cost of running a competition, in correlation with director Andrea Albin's plan to move on after the 2011 announcements have been completed, SCRIPTOID has decided that the best course of action is to end after a two year run. All 2011 competitors will receive all benefits offered. This does not go into effect until 2012.
